Our Story

Hey, I’m Jess.

I’m married to my best friend, Kameaaloha Wong, and together we’re raising our three children—Levi, Aliyah, and Kamea. Kamea Designs was born in the summer of 2014, when our oldest son, Kamea, was just one years old.

Sewing and crafting have been part of my life for as long as I can remember (though I do not have a degree in fashion or went to school for it). When I first began, I only knew how to sew one style of dress. Over time, with patience, practice, and a lot of faith, that single design grew into a full collection of pieces we create today. Along the way, I’ve learned more than I ever imagined, and I am endlessly grateful for the people who believed in us from the very beginning. When you work hard and place your trust in God, there truly is no limit to what can be accomplished.

In the early days, I did everything—cutting, sewing, finishing, tagging, and shipping every single garment. As we grew, I was led to seek support through our manufacturing partners. Today, I personally create custom orders and sew limited handmade collections. Sewing and designing are my therapy—it’s where I feel most creative and connected, and where I’m able to share a piece of myself with all of you.

My husband and children will always be my greatest priority, but I’m deeply thankful for the time God gives me to express myself through Kamea Designs. I’m far from perfect and I fail often, but I hold tightly to the reminder that God has a plan. As Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. My hope is that my journey inspires you to chase your dreams and remember that you are never bound by your circumstances.
